morini 162E custom grip
I have 2 grips with my 162, an S and a M. The M presses painfully in my hand, the palmshelf. However size is good. The S isnt painfull but at the left its a bit small and, under the middle of my hand, its not filled enough.
When I grip it and follow the grip's contours, its ok, but than the frontsight is off to the left. When I let my left hand 'give' the pistol into the U-shape of my right hand, the sights stay aligned, but my hand doesnt follow grip contours. And 1 of the issues is, that my hand only touches front and back. In the middle, its 'hollow'.
Dont want to work on the grips though. I'm not experienced enough for that. Might alter my handgrip again in the future, so I'm considering a Rink grip.
With a hand scan, sizes measured etc, would such a grip give me significantly better fitting? Would it be possible to have Rink alter the angle? I'm mean so that the frontsight comes up more? My E grip isnt adjustable..

Hi Yana, I'm not completely sure, but reading your post, it seems that you
are cross dominant. That is to say that you are left handed with right eye
dominance. I am cross dominant in inverse; right handed with left eye
dominance. I shoot an LP1-C and I bought a rink grip. It has enough swell
in the palm and I can adjust the horizontal angle to suit me. I also shoot an
FWB 100 as a backup, and I ordered a grip from Denis Marschal that has
about 5 degrees lateral offset to compensate for my cross dominance.
Please ignore what I said, if you're not cross dominant....
You can add putty to your grip to fill out the inner palm contact. If you botch
the job, the putty is easily removed.

You might have a small hand.
Look at Rink grip website. One of their configurations for small hand is a flatter palm hump. If you send that hump down a little bit, the air space you mention would be diminished significantly, it would also drive your front sight toward the left.
As for palm shelf that is tight, is it because you can not move the palm shelf lower? If that is the case, you can dremel the lower part of the two vertical slots a little bit, you will be able to lower the palm shelf, and cosmetically you can not tell the alteration from the grip. Lengthen the slots a little bit will go a long way in tight palm shelf comfort.

Thanks all. I'm not cross dominant, I'm both r/h.
Its not the M shelf itsélf that hurts, but the back, where it ends. That edge presses in my hand after 20 shots or so. The adjustment is quite ok.
With the S, the shelf is a tad far down for an S grip I think, cause the shelf is lower than the edge it slides over, presses my hand somewhere else..
My handwidth is quite small, I have long fingers though..

I received my grip today. He shipped my grip a week ago and it arrived in perfect shape. The fit to my pistol is perfect. This new stock fits my hand a lot better than the factory grip.

Overall, while not a perfect fit this grip matches my hand a lot better than what I had before. I'd buy it again. Also, I love the way the palm shelf is adjusted--very easy.
Unless you are worried about resale value I would advise you to take a file to that part of the grip that is pressing into your hand after 20 shots. In the ideal case you want the pistol to point naturally at the target when in the firing position. Any forced adjustment of the wrist to compensate for an unideal grip angle will not work in the long term.yana wrote:Thanks all. I'm not cross dominant, I'm both r/h.
