Walther LG300 Broken Barrel?

We have several of these standard Walther LG300 Air Rifles at our Junior Club, and today during a postal league match one of the plastic barrel sleeves came off. A coach was screwing in a refilled air cylinder and the plastic sleeve part 87 (2650738) that holds the front globe sight slide off of the actual barrel. It doesn't seem to be pressed on or have any set screws. With this sleeve loose the front globe aperture is useless. We sent an email to Walther to see what they say but were curious to see if anyone on here has had this issue before? The other same models have no similar issues either.

Thanks

it's just glued on.

tell the coach not to hold the barrel when a cylinder is screwed in... not unless your shooters like to rezero.

I shall pass on your tale to my wife, she has a new LG300 Junior and like many shooters used to smallbore and fullbore barrels picks up the rifle vertically using the barrel, I did mention to her that it was just a carbon sleeve and she could end up with it either break off or pull off, seems like it was a timely warning!
Others beware!
