You guys really should read the Targettalk archives. There is some great stuff in there!

I like the idea of filling my own cylinders with my hand pump. No travelling for refills and no more expense after purchasing the pump. I have never had a CO2 gun, though, so I don't know all the details.

Hey Rover(Scott), I tried to find a nice home in AZ, but my wife wanted
to live in Show Low and I preferred Payson. So I'm still stuck in CA(pun intended).
However there is a bright side, I primarily shoot CO2 match pistols; they
are two FEG GPM-01s(backups) and a Steyr LP1-C as the first choice.

Ben
I love having the pump. Out here in the desert is pretty dry too.

I'm not Scott...just quoting him from the archives.

I'll go back in and put quotation marks around that statement.

There really is some fun stuff in the archives if you give it a look.

If more people did there would be a hell of a lot less questions here.

We must be in the remaining two percent that CO2 guns are not suitable for here in Arizona. It gets so damn hot that they don't work.

If you move to Show Low or Payson you'll actually get some snow. Phoenix people run there and hide in the summer.

Ben,
And people complain abut pumping the SSP's!!!

The CO2 guns are here to stay, forever...

I was introduced to CO2 guns back in 1980. Have owned and used CO2 guns ever since.
No pumping, less fuzz.
When gasweight gets too, I'll just leave the cylinder in the fridge for a while, then fill, and I'm are ready to go again.

Just love my ol' FWB CO2-2, made in 1982.
It's about as worn (out) as myself.
I'll do some target practice with this gun this very evening.
As usual.

Smoke 'em if you got 'em!

Did anyone actually go into the archives for snoop after this thread?

For anyone who likes to shoot, Phoenix (and especially Phoenix Rod & Gun Club) has more activity than any other Western state.

Check it out!:

Hmm... you might need to back that up with some attendance numbers ;-)

The Utah Precision Marksmanship Society had 32 unique shooters participating int our competition in February and 25 shooters at our match last weekend.

Well Hello Ben, I thought my profile would show that I live in Corona, California, but it doesn't.
My wife's parents lived in Clarkdale AZ, which is adjacent to Cottonwood.
Our summers in Corona do not get as hot as Phoenix, so I can shoot my
LP1-C almost all year. I have shot the LP1 in 102 Degree temp and as low
as 50 degrees. At that wide temperature variation, the LP1 still is capable
of hitting the inner ten with no sight adjustments. Iv'e been thinking of
traveling to your area for one of your matches. Not for winning anything
but simply for 10 meter AP solidarity. We local 10 meter airpistol shooters
have been without the Prado Airgun Hall for too long, as a matter of fact, we no longer
get together and shoot 10 meter except at our homes.

Tony G,

Come on down! We're having matches next weekend. International on Sat., bullseye on Sun., with AP both days. Zurek and Reiter will be there to whip your ass. Brenda Shinn drops in occasionally to make us all feel bad.

Oz,

We had 48 bullseye shooters at our Desert Midwinter plus many International shooters, some of whom shot bullseye, too. A bunch of them were from Utah, including Arnie Vitarbo (Viva Italia, Arnie, amico mio!).

Because of the small turnout in High Master class, we only gave away three .45s.

Besides pistol, we also host high power, small bore, jr. small bore, and a large Practical Pistol (hoser) crowd. There are also two other large ranges in Phoenix offering pretty much the same thing without the emphasis on pistol of the PRGC

I'm not sure why this has been pulled up, yes, its true, CO2 Air pistols are more reliable, cheaper, safer and user serviceable for the vast majority of users. But CA is here to stay.

Pilk,

I pulled it up because you guys are so wonderfully pragmatic, and as a jibe at the guys who think that buying the latest bells and whistles will actually improve their (probably) mediocre (or more euphemistically "less than perfect") performance.

There ya go, Jalapenjo! I'm nothing if not accommodating.

...improve their (probably) 'less than perfect' performance (I may ask.) :-)
