Sling Question

I had a question from a local coach that I can't answer. We have our state Jr Olympics coming up and one of their shooters is using a sling with a wide cuff around his arm. I always thought this was not legal under international rules but I cannot find anything much on slings in the rules. Anyone know if this is legal or not? If not where is it in the rules?
Thanks!

not sure what you mean by "cuff" but there is a max width rule USAS rule book
7.4.2.5 Slings
Maximum sling width is 40 mm. The sling must be worn only over the upper part of the left arm and from there be connected to the forend of the rifle stock. These slings may be attached to the forend of the rifle at a single point only. The sling must pass along one side of the hand or wrist only. No part of the rifle may touch the sling or any of its attachments except at the sling swivel and hand stop.
