i found a test from sweden but they didnt use a morini in the test...
and i was thinking about if you can dry fire the pistol whitout any thing in it, one of the guys in my club talked about that you must have an emty cartridge in the morini gun or the barrel will break!!!!
is this realy true? i thought all pistols hade a dryfire mecanism?
i'm sorry fore my english but i hope you understand me...

Re: morini cm22 rf
I am trying to imagine how heavy a hammer blow to the firing pin has to be to be able to fully break the barrel of the gun. Not very light, i presume.andersen wrote: if you can dry fire the pistol whitout any thing in it, one of the guys in my club talked about that you must have an emty cartridge in the morini gun or the barrel will break!!!!
BTW it is true! For sure.
If you aren'tt able to spot the dry firing feature of your pistol, it's probably cause it ain't got one.andersen wrote: i thought all pistols hade a dryfire mecanism?

About ammunitions, I have used several match grade and cheap ones: RWS pistol match, SK standard+, SK pistol matc, Eley target pistol, CCI standard. They all work fine but the weakest *RWS and SK) require more cleaning of the pistol. I now use Eley target pistol and CCI standard but it is because I could get a huge stock for a very good price !
While most AP and FP have a dryfire system, it is not the case for most standard pistols with a mechanical trigger.
Also it is never good to dry fire with an empty chamber. So, you could leave an empty cartridge or put a dummy carttridge but then the firing pin will be hit by the hammer that will then hit the empty cartridge or the dummy cartridge always at the same place -> ideally, you should rotate the empty/dummy cartridge after a couple of dry shot.
For the CM22M the best is to insert the red plastic part that keeps the bold partly open (you should have received it with your pistol) and dry fire with the bold partly open. When you do this, the hammer cannot hit the firiing pin.
