I belong to a 10M winter league that allows any 22 or air rifle configuration, with any sights. Due to a botched eye surgery, I can no longer use peep sights, so I use a scope. Anyway, I currently use a 2002CA, but I thought I would try the 9003. To my surprise, unlike the original 9003, the 9003-S2 does not have the front of the receiver grooved for a scope. Is there a adapter to allow a scope on the newest 9003?

I had to order a front rail, so I could mount a scope on my 8002-S2 rifle. The Anschutz part number is 7001228 Rail for 8002 receiver.
It is a thin flat piece of metal with 4 holes in it. It comes with 2 screws to mount it to the rifle and 2 pins for the other 2 holes. Put a little clear finger nail polish on the screw threads so they don't back out. There was a total look of shock on my face when I opened the envelope it came in and saw just how small it was. The price is $44 dollars and $2 dollars shipping for a total of $46 dollars. This part is way over priced. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I contacted Neal after Christmas and he quickly sent me the mount. The price was 47 plus 2 shipping. And you are right, it is really not worth the money.
The vendor I bought the rifle from was a "factory trained 9003 dealer" and they had no clue about the overpriced scope mount. They suggested I have a machinist make one. To me that show that Anschutz does not provide support to the retailers.
So right now, I would like to rant. What is up with Anschutz? I paid about 750 more for the 9003 than the 8002 for a couple of stickers and some weights? They could not even include the mount? Crazy and insulting.
The case the 9003 came in is a 15 dollar wal mart special. I really don't mind the 2650 for a good product, but the the total upgrade to the 9003 from the 8002 can't be 50 bucks. I think their whole product line has been cheapened to the point that they do not represent a premier product line. I will also add that I sent 2 emails to different people at Anschutz to help with the mount issue, and a month later I still have no reply. To me it looks a little like they are going out of business and raping the loyal customers. For the last 7 years I have bought myself an Anschutz for my birthday, that tradition ends this year. If I had to do it over again, I would get a FWB. Truly sad to have bad feelings about a company I respected.
