Walther LG30

I just found the LG30 on champion's choice, and it seems suspiciously cheap at $1175, given the fact that it's got an aluminum stock. How does it shoot? If I'm on a budget, would I swing for that or a slightly worn FWB 300/600?

Thanks for all the input.

The Walther LG-30 was originally designed and produced by Hammerlie, but when Hammerlie got bought out by the Umerex group who own Walther they switched the logo on the gun to Walther.

There is a big difference between the LG-30 and FWB 300/600. The LG-30 is a CA powered weapon and will have no effort in loading and will be almost totally recoilless on firing, The FWB 300-S is a side lever springer and is recoilless but there is movement of the action when firing. The 600 is a side lever pre compressed air rifle and does take some effort to cock and load. They are both old technology but will last you a life time and shoot 10's in the right hands. They will also require a tad more maintenance than the LG-30 because of all the moving parts.

With the LG-30 you can add on bits such as weights and a MEC butt plate later if you want to upgrade it, so it is quite versatile.

Bought a new Walther LG30 Jr.

First, thanks for cluing me in on where to buy one of these Rifles!
I've got mine now, and I love it!
I have been shooting my FWB 300s, and doing quite well on the 1/2 support for us people over 55, but couldn't control the weight for shooting off-hand. I tried a Daisey and found I could handle the weight, but hated the trigger and loading gate. I ordered the Walther LG30 Jr, because it has an aluminum air tank that makes it 400g lighter than the steel air tank on the Walther LG30 Plus.
The Jr comes with a Gamo sight on it, but it hits Bulls eyes more ofter than I was doing on my other gun. I love the clear front, because I can moore easily see the actual positions of the targets I am supposed to be aiming at.
Having an aluminum frame also gives so many adjustments to every thing that I touch, or touches my body. Everyone that tries this gun, at the Club, likes the balance, the trigger pull, and or the weight. Being able to set it up for Left Or Right hand shooters help when Husband and Wife and/or child all shoot at the Club and are Righties & Lefties

This gun gives everyone at the Club another option. We use a lot of Anschutz 8001 & 8002s, and Airforce 200s.

The only thing negative about this gun, is it is new and there are not a lot of available accessories, that I can find, without going to European Web Sights. I was told by Champions Choice, the the rails were 1mm smaller than most of the other European guns, and that not all of their accessories would fit.

I haven't had to reset my zero, and have done nothing but move up the Placing Roster. It's a shooter! It will probably be the new gun in a lot of Clubs. It's good and affordable. I have two very bad shoulders, and I am now able to shoot Pistol, !/2 Support & Off-Hand.

I also am not knocking any of the Great Guns out there! This is just another option for smaller people, and hurting people.
