Air pistol scoring

Post by bentrod »

I got my Izzy 46 a few days ago and setup a range in my basement (hang the lead dust), and found it is great fun and cheap.

Now, what are the different stages of an AP match, how are they scored and what are good scores for different stages of the shooters development?

Hi Jim,
When I first started shooting free pistol, someone mentioned to me that they broke 500. That's a good number to shoot for when you first start air pistol, also. I would then go for the different classification numbers after that. However, don't get too hung up on score. Try to execute each shot perfectly and the score will take care of itself. I know it's hard to do because score is the only measure that counts when the results are posted.
Welcome to air pistol shooting!

"Terra-Dttos" on the technique thing.

Focus on *you* performing the *proper* behaviors . . . holes in paper are an (indirect) side effect of you properly executing the desired behaviors . . .
