Shooting Clothing in USA

Hey guys,

Debated on whether to post this here or in the junior section, but I think it applies here.

I'm new to the forum and this looks like a great place. I'm a ROTC cadet in Texas and the commander of the rifle team. I was hoping you guys can recommend some good shooting clothing for 3 position 10m air rifle competitions. This is my 4th year shooting and I want to try out for the Junior Olympic team this year.

Right now I use an Anschutz 2002 with a basic leather shooting jacket provided by the school. I'm looking to get my own jacket, trousers, and boots for shooting to give myself more support. What should I be looking for and where? I'd like to find something in the USA so I don't have to pay for overseas shipping. Most websites I find are in the UK though.

I need something that will work well for all 3 positions and won't be incredibly expensive. Can you guys recommend some equipment and where to get it? Thanks a lot.

Champions Choice ... usually has stock
Neal Stepp - Tries to keep stock
Neal Johnson's .... usually also has stock.
Monard USA ... MAYBE stock
(a google on any of the above should get you their webpages & contact numbers)

Suggest you get a KT measuring sheet as well as, say, a Gehmann. Do the measurements and call the folks above .... Have a price range that you are looking to spend ... do the measurements before you call so you have something to guide them

All have the basic starter gear (non-custom) Custom is expensive and most probably even if you ordered it now it is debateable whether you'd get it in by April

Where in TX are you? If you are near Houston, call Neal Stepp first and you might be able to go over & try stuff on.

Monard is the way to go. They've got a US-based branch, and are an outstanding value for the money. You can get a custom set from them cheaper than the off the shelf stuff in the other brands, and at literally half the price of the top dollar overseas stuff. All of the Monard I had seen a few years back was at least as nice as my Sauer suit was. I plan on picking up a new set myself a few months down the line.

Warwagon is right
Monard are great value for money and even their custom is cheaper than many other brands.
Go for the Monard double canvas if you mostly shoot standing up as it will give you much better support than leather.

Having said that, it's worth trying on some off the peg clothing as you might hit lucky with a good fit. Try all options.

If you do go for a Monard custom ask for metal buttons as they usually come with plastic.
Monard also supply an under jacket shooting vest with a zip stand up collar designed to maintain a constant body temp. Its about half the price of other vests.
