Trigger Question

Hi, maybe a weird trigger question guys :)
I know the trigger must be activated slowly, but when you start adding pressure to the trigger how much time it should take for the gun to fire? Just to get an idea.
Sometimes it takes me plenty of seconds and I lose my minimum arc of movement while at it. Guess I should squeeze faster but I might jerk the trigger, which is my concern.
