Frangible non-toxic .22 ammo - any advice?

Aloha All,

We are working to restore .22 junior shooting program here by way of a Police Activities League summer program that will train at a new police range soon to open. The new range will require all ammo to be frangible non-toxic. I hope this is not a show-stopper.

Does anyone have any experience with this type ammo for our target shooting sports and equipment? I see that Federal makes a .22 non-toxic version. Does Eley or Lapua make any non-toxic ammo? Can we use it in our rifles?

Does anyone out there belong to a PAL rifle team or program? Any guidance for set-up and operations within the PAL framework?

Try contacting Eley through their web page- http://eley.co.uk/about-eley/contact-us.aspx

Don't know about LAPUA.

Aloha All,

Thanks to all of you who have called or sent e-mail expressing your sympathy. Here is the best info source on non-toxic ammo that has been found so far:

http://www.policeandsecuritynews.com/ja ... nition.htm

Still do not know if we can use any of this in our type rifles and sport without damage to the gun or accuracy issues. Who would be the best person to ask at Anschutz, FWB, Steyr...?
