Off-setting the hand stop rail on G&E stock?

Hey guys,
I just got my G&E stock and I have a question for those who may have encountered this (G&E still hasn't gotten back to me about it).

You can turn the mount for the hand stop rail 180 degrees in order to off-set the hand stop rail towards the sling hand but the mount is not semetrical. In the normal position there are a bunch of little sticky green balls (which I believe are their for vibration dampening) under a lip on the right side of the mount.

Are you supposed to just move them over to the other side when you turn the mount around or remove them? Aren't they placed where they are to be effective, if you are moving them around you might as well not have them there...

Remove your Balls

I spoke to Rolf Grunig about this several moths ago and his response was:

"If you turn the accessory rail 180°, you have to remove the 8 shock absorber balls on the left side. But be sure, you don't have any quality loss."

I haven't noticed any difference.
