Adding ballast weights

Is there a rule regarding the adding of ballast weights on a pistol? I know weights can be added along the axis of the barrel, but what if I wanted to add some weights directly behind my rear sight? Is there any rule against that?

As long as it fits in the box and doesn't exceed the maximum weight (AP, SP, CFP); nor violate any of the other terchnical rules for pistols (for example, if you put the weight directly behind the sight it can't extend above the notch of the rear sight or you would be violating the "open sight" rule).
