Metric O-rings availability ?

Does anyone have a location for buying metric O-rings for AP's? Specifically I need the metric O-ring that goes on the brass fill adapter of an MG-1 AP. I believe the measured sizes for the O-ring I need are: OD 18mm, ID 13mm, Thickness 2.4mm. I've tried Lowes, Menards, Home Depot and none of them carry Metric O-rings. An SAE #10 O-ring is just a little too small and a #11 is too large. Both of those sizes just leak air when under pressure from my scuba tank.

This O-ring is not the same size as on the Morini 162ei fill adapter, nor is it the same size as the O-ring on the FWB P34 brass adapter.

Give Pilkguns a call. They can mail you some.

If Scott's out of them(rare), you can get what you need from an industrial supplier, but you've got to measure carefully. My supplier is MSC Industrial Supply. You won't be able to purchase them individually, I think they come in a minimum of 25pcs., but theyre only a few cent apiece. Here's their link they've got an on-line catalog:

Harbor Freight Tools sells a packaged assortment of metric o-rings that would probably include the size you want. The assortment pack is relatively inexpensive; I can't vouch for the quality.

Harbor Freight Tools did indeed have a boxed metric o-ring set for $8, with 397 metric O-rings. Unfortunately the size I needed in their notation was a P13, and of course the kit only had P12 and P14 sized O-rings included.

I didn't even bother calling Pilkguns as the size O-ring (as I previously stated) is not the same size as on the Morini, FWB, nor Steyr AP's. This size O-ring (P13) is specific to the Matchgun MG-1 brass fill adapter.

So still no luck in obtaining a P13 O-ring -- ID 13mm, thickness 2.4mm, OD 18mm.

Well, you should have. It doesn't seem like it should have been that big a bother and you might have gotten the O-ring you needed. Apparently, you don't need it that bad.

Pilkington not only sells (specific brands of) air pistols, they also repair air pistols, of any type. They also sell and repair air rifles. They have a gunsmith on their staff and advertise their gun repair service. So it is likely they they have a large assortment of metric and non-metric orings and quite possible that they have some in size P13.

Why email the guy who would most likely have them when you can moan about not finding it somewhere else. After all its way more fun and easy to post on here then click on the link and email Scott himself and ask him if he has them.

Your measurements, ID 13mm, OD 18mm are for a 2.5mm O-ring, not 2.4mm. (do the math) besides, 2.4mm rings aren’t normally available in these larger diameters. You’re looking for the more common 2.5mm.

You didn't say whether or not you contacted MSC Industrial Supply as I suggested. Since you say you haven't obtained one I guess you didn't bother. I did, why, I don’t know.

These are the stock numbers for the Viton and Buna-N rings, found on Pg.4385,.... 2006/2007 catalog.

Viton…#31959083…Pkg.10….$8.05
Buna-N #31958523…Pkg.100..$11.04

Thanks pgfaini. I didn't get a chance to try MSC until now, but when I did using the info in your posts, they wanted 8.05+9.23(s/h)+1.08(tax?)=$18.36, so that was a little steep for 10 o-rings. Thanks also to FredB and Fred Mannis for useful posts as well.

In the end, it was pointed out to me that Neal Stepp of Intl Shooters Supply is a Matchgun Dealer and he had the o-rings in stock for the MG-1. Neal's tel. # for interested parties is: 817-595-2090.

Viton O-rings tend to be much more expensive than Buna-N. They are usually used in areas subject to volatile solvents, such as gasoline, which they resist well. Glad you found an inexpensive source, they're probably Buna-N rings.
