A friend has a smallbore standard rifle. I though it was an anshutz then look at the writing and it says H.WEIRRAUCH MELLRICHSTADT. It has a nice standard rifle style stock with an adjustable checkpiece and bull barrel. Any info about this rifle including price would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Ted,

What you've got there is a Weihrauch (pronounced like why-raugh). take a look at http://www.weihrauch-port.de/englisch/e ... _index.htm

They are not very popular over here in europe, but i do not know why. Weihrauch is very famous for their spring operated airrifles (HW35 and HW90 for example) and they make revolvers as well.

I found a 22 Weihrauch match rifle on a german auction site: http://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=1254276
this probably looks like it. Price is 200 euro (there are about 0,80 euro to the dollar) but the auction is still open. I guess such a rifle would go for 300 euro here in europe. Anschutz of the same age woudl go for 400 to 500 depending the looks.

Good luck with your rifle, Sven.
