I was wondering if we could possibly have a DIY section in the forum? People could post any specific mods and procedures to do things. A lot of people are pretty inventive when they have to do things on a budget and this info would really benefit a lot of people, putting it in its own DIY section would help keep it contained for searching/looking in one place.

I know I am planning to work up my own DIY electric target carrier (for hopefully under $100) and I am sure people would be interested. I tried to search the forum to see if others had already tried such a thing but my search returned so many un-related topics that it is nearly impossible to wade through them all.

Just a thought...

Great idea. As a range manager and instructor I always looking for this kind of thing. Back when the Daisy 753 rifles were the primary entry tool in sporter AR there was a wealth of information that eventually made the rifle a good entry gun. Also DIY info helped my club build a 50 yard indoor range. The turning target project that you mentioned is on my "to do" list and any new innovations are welcome.

If you're interested in turning target DIY stuff, I have some up at my site on the first page. The host also has some of my older stuff up on the main site. I don't have any carrier info (as the OP posted) yet, but had planned something as a future project. Last year we put in a 25 yard ten-point full sized outdoor turning system for about $600 total, most of which was steel cost. The machine shop time was donated, though, and was quite intensive for what we did - milling, turning and welding for the connections for each frame as well as mounting of the actuator. I hope to document that project this next spring, as well. I just have too many projects right now. The turner links are at the top of this home page:
