Axsor Air Pistol pump.

Post by Alex L »

I have had my pump for 4 years, but recently I seem to have a problem with filling the cylinder.

When I use the pump, it sometimes feels as if there is some air coming back to the pump which is lifting the handle piece. It must be the ball valve, or it is not sealing somewhere.

I have been using very fine gun oil - just one or two drops smeared onto the shaft - about once a year. Also when I have finished filling the cylinders I release the water trap screw, and pump out the moisture.

I pump up to 200 bar without any problems, usually.

I sent an email to the company - which is listed on the pump -
www.axsor.com but did not get any reply.

Has anyone else had this sort of problem with the pump? If so - how did you fix it?

Does anyone have a service manual for this type of pump?

Any suggestions would be a help.
Thanks,
Alex L.

Hi,
This is my air pump.

May be it is the same? Hope this will help a bit anyway.

It appears that others have had similar problems. It is my understanding that the pump has glass balls to filter moisture from the air by condensation. Water gathers here (at the base of the pump) and the balls and surrounding parts get grubby. The oil ring at the base (where your pump may be leaking) also gets hard with time and then needs replacement.

A little bit of info, http://www.pilkguns.com/arch/arch022.htm

I have a Hill pump and have not yet needed to rebuild it so I don't have any other specific information for you. However, it sounds to me like your pump needs new O-rings and relube.

Good luck!
