hotels for spring selection match

Post by Ted »

I am going to the spring selection match this weekend and would like to stay at a hotel where other pistol shooters are staying. So, what hotels are you staying at? USA Shooting said their staff is staying at Sleep Inn.

Some Hotel General Comments

Sorry, this isn't about the selection match, but I have a couple thoughts regarding hotels for matches in general:

A lot of times you can find some much better prices a little ways out from your venue. The extra travel time might be worth a substantial savings, especially for a longer schedule. An example - hotels near the MD State Match last year were $150+, but just a little further out there were some for $60.00. Yes, there may be a difference in accomodations, but I'm not really interested in most of the extras. A clean bed and bathroom is about all I need.

I don't know about USAS, but NRA members are entitled to some discounts at several of the familiar named hotels (and Avis and Hertz car rentals). Some of the savings can be pretty good. Most of the hotels use the ID# 20661. For more info check about midway down this page:

I'm not trying to solicit NRA membership, but some of the savings can be more than the annual dues.

Take Care,
