My pistol (FWB P40), like other pistols, have the possibility to change the sight radius.
I have received my pistol and I am using like the factory send to me.
How I know that I should change the sight radius?
Only trying new measures of sight radius?

I think the basic test is whether you're finding it difficult to hold the target. If you are, and the black is bouncing around your front sight too much, try shortening the radius. If it's easy to hold, you might try increasing it to get a little more precision. But yes, basically, you have to experiment, I think.

Increasing sight radius also results in greater abilty to notice imperfections in your sight alignment. This could be a GOOD or a BAD thing.

BAD:

The greater ability to see imperfections in your sight alignment may lead an inexperienced/newer shooter to hold too long because they become obsessed with trying to dress up the sight picture for that "perfect alignment." This is counter productive for the shot plan of newer shooters.

GOOD:

If you can avoid being seduced into overthinking\overholding your sight picture and you can accept your imperfect hold on any particular day, the greater amount of information you get from a longer sight radius could tighten up your groups.


Experimentation is the key - be careful that you dont sacrifice a very smooth, CONSTANTLY moving trigger for that perfect sight picture though.

When I got my P40 new, I was using the shortest sight. About a year now and have extended the sight to longest possible and am comfortable already. To start, my 2 centavos is to move the back sight as far back as possible and the front blade back as well. Helps on the eye relief a lot.

Shucks I think one seal is leaking. I think the WD40 went to it.
