Credit Where (When) Credit Is Due

The new USAS website is up and running, most of the bugs worked out, match results posted, national rankings updated, most of the promised files/downloads are available, copies of presentations and documents etc. . . . not only that, better (well, maybe even "Good") layout and navigability.

Since I'm usually near the front of the line to offer "Constructive Criticism" (some would call me downright cranky) it is a delight to be able to take note of the improvements (what about that National Championship Schedule!?), updates, and generally positive developments at this time.

Wait, I'm reloading . . . . ! =8^)

The rankings make interesting reading.

There does not appear to be much depth in USA pistol shooting.

Are the rankings a true indication?

Mikey:

You are correct- but this may be changing. Without development of a talent pool below the top, there is no "upward mobility" required for a vibrant, competitive pool of challengers.

I'd guess that the rankings for all disciplines appear to be an indication of only those people fortunate enough to get to multiple (or numerous) USA Shooting matches in a year (or whatever time period they are looking at). Less representative of the actual talent, and more representative of ability to travel, IMHO.
