Are the barrels either hard chromed or stainless , they appear highly polished . Styer's only care and feeding recommendation is cleaning pellets every thosand rounds or so . Is there anything else I should consider ? I know that oil or solvents are a nono anywhere near regulators or "O" rings .

Thanks for any info , I want to take good care of my babies .

Hello , my new Steyr LP2 has a nickel plated barrel. I would imagine that the LP10 and LP50 are the same. My cleaning instructions were that same, a dry cleaning pellet every 1000 rounds or so.

Chris,

The bottom line in this equation is that pellets leave behind a very little amount of fouling. As a result, a cleaning pellet is about all that's ever needed to keep them clean. And since there's no corrosive components in the propulsive gases (and no scorching hot gases either) there's little worry about the barrel corroding. My 14-year old LP-1 has remained very clean as a result of shooting two felt pellets through it for every tin of lead pellets I fire. Same thing goes for my LP-10 and Morini 162, even though neither of them is more than a few years old.

Hope you enjoy shooting your airgun!
