Morini Grip Help

Morini Grip that is installed on a LP1 has a number "1" stamped on the bottom is this the size? And if so what is the size?

I think that there have been two marking scales, dependant on the age of the grip. I recall that "1" was Medium. The newer range is marked "M", "L" etc. Hope this is of some help.
