FAS607 or Pardini SP for Standard/Rapid

G'Day,

I'm looking for a new standard pistol (to replace the one I had to hand in in the UK). I think I've narrowed it down to the FAS 607 or the Pardini SP-New (mechanical trigger)

My old FAS 602 gave many years of good service, but was not really ideal for Rapid Fire, how does the 607 measure up? Here in Aus its up to a year delivery for the 607 so I would want to be sure.
The Walther SSP looks interesting, but I think I'll give it a year or two to shake out. The SP 20 is not an option as I like to make or alter my own grips.

Any advice gratefully received.

James

Hi James

Great to hear that you are still about (even if on the other side of the world).

Although I still maintain that the 602 with an extra-heavy barrel shroud was the best pistol I ever shot for Standard Pistol, the 607 never quite performed as well with the new barrel shroud/weight arrangement. I would also doubt whether either the 602 or the 607 would be as good for Rapid-Fire as the Pardini seems to be.

I will pass your greetings to all at the BPC.

Hi David,
Good to hear from you also!
I reckoned the FAS 602 with the Match 2 weight was just a bit heavy, which was why I went for the Match 1.
