Happy 4th of July to all who read this! To fulfill my patriotic obligations I took delivery of a Morini CM84E Free Pistol today and I'm ready to celebrate our independency at the range this weekend.

My question is in regards to dry firing, what is the correct procedure for the Morini CM84E? Am I correct in saying that after you fire a round you can proceed to depress the trigger without damaging the firing pin. So long as you don’t pull the lever and cock the firing pin. What if you cock the firing pin and you change your mind and want to dry fire. How do you discharge the firing pin so you can dry fire without damaging the firing pin?

What I do with my 84E is pop the hatch and insert an empty casing in the chamber. The first "thunk" will be the firing pin releasing; you are correct in saying that all subsequent "clicks" are the solenoid only.

After a session at the range, I have dry fire snap caps and I insert one so that I can relieve the spring while the gun is put up.
