Re: Project Rifle

GCSInc wrote:The concept for this project was that a young Athlete should be able to earn the money to pay for this equipment in a single summer working.

It sports a CZ-452 Varmint taper Barreled Action and Trigger. PDC Custom Stock. Anschutz Sights, and yes it would take a 5 or 10 rnd Mag, but the single shot sled is installed. The Butt plate is from ESP. Extended Bloop Tube for sight radius.

It's a 3P rifle and it's our attempt to get an affordable (less than $1000.00 USD) Rifle into the hands of our juniors and beginners. For 50' - 50 meters, this Rifle should compete very well with Rifles costing much more. It's a starting point.

As for the AR-15 style pistol grip, there are so many variations on the market, a young shooter can find something suitable for less than $50.00 USD to fit their hand and needs. You can pay 300.00 or more for a grip, but these work fine.

If there is a better, cheaper, more adjustable alternative, I'd very much like to hear about it.

Thanks,

Congratulations! So they do actually exists. How does it shoot? Is it easy to find good ammo for it, or is it picky?

They were only released a short time ago , it has taken me awhile to fit it in my 2013 stock, shoots very nicely :) hope to do a more comprehensive ammo testing soon but eley seems to have an edge over R50 so far

What made it more difficult was that I knew this was not the first time I had let such a moment pass. When Daniel was five, I took him to the school-bus stop on his first day of kindergarten. I felt the tension in his hand holding mine as the bus turned the corner. I saw colour flush his cheeks as the bus pulled up. He looked at me-as he did now.

Dave:
Very nice rig.
I am green with aluminum envy ... but I'll stick with being right handed.

I'd give my left hand to be ambidextrous!!!

Wasn't too bad, they use the same bolt pattern as the 20 series and just needed to take a bit of timber of the rear as the action is longer at the back , relieve the trigger area some and some other minor mods :-)

I shoot with the Adelaide Smallbore Club, we shoot Wednesday nights at Dry Creek and Sunday mornings at water fall gully, drop out some time for a shot , would like to see that unique in action.
