Dr. Jim wrote:OK just to show off David's work. My old P240 barrel can to me as part of a salvaged gun, I knew the barrel had been damaged, and I was set to core out the breech and install a new chunk of tube. Hesitation kept me from doing it. The barrel had been bulged, the cracks are visible but someone unknown had done a mostly creditable welding job. The pictures show the comparisons (sorry iPad photos) and to show David's work.

Sorry could only get two to move here.

Cheers Jim
Wow, you didn't actually shoot a visibly cracked barrel with a shady welded repair job, did you?

Actually I put about fifty rounds through it. Functioned fine, gave about two inch group at 25 metres and didn't even lead up. Hardly recommended, I don't have any idea of how much it was shot this way, but the repair was not fresh, and the serial number makes the gun very early manufacture.

Hello friends,
I can only take my hat off in front of David's artwork, wonderful....
My P240 is currently CIP testing and will shortly be shipped back to me. I'm in a hurry to manage to test it at the range. Next time, I'll put picture of my new barrel in here.

My barrel will be delivered black which is the result of the plasma nitration thermal treatment but other colours are possible in option....
Have a good weekend.
Jacques
