Does the same rule apply to air pistol?
can someone put up some sketches or photos of your interpretation.

8.4 EQUIPMENT AND AMMUNITION
8.4.1 Standards for all Pistols
8.4.1.1 Grips. For dimensions and details of grips see the Pistol
Specification Table and Table for Drawing and Measurements.
8.4.1.1.1 Neither the grip nor any part of the pistol may be extended or
constructed in any way that would allow it to touch beyond the
hand. The wrist must remain visibly free when the pistol is held in
the normal firing position. Bracelets, wristwatches, wristbands, or
similar items are prohibited on the hand, and arm, which holds the
pistol.
The photos shown appear to contravene the first sentence of 8.4.1.1.1.
Can anyone offer any explanation for this.[/b]

Knowing the guy who ran the pistol equipment control, I'd be very surprised if the wrist wasn't checked as free on aim during the weapons checks. It's also something the jury would look at during training so I'd suggest it's most likely a false impression given in a photograph.

Being the cynic I am, I have wondered if these guys hold the pistol the same way at equipment control as they do during the actual shooting? It would be quite easy to hold the pistol so the wrist is free for equipment control purposes, then push the hand hard into the grip for the match.
Just saying...

Rule 8.4.2.1 anyone?
For those not familiar with Pardini pistols the slot in the side of the frame where the slide "wings" run is on the bore centreline.

I have just emailed copies of those two pics to all seven members of the ISSF Pistol Committee for their opinion.
Not expecting too much other than a "it's the angle of the photo" type of response, if anything at all!

They probably have more important things on their minds, like how to get more expense allowances, or what colour the new ISSF tie should be.
