I'm not so sure that penny-tech repair will keep the mainspring stop from turning. Maybe silver solder some music wire to the sear spring if it breaks, or make some from flat spring stock or feeler gauges. Give it the Darra Adam Khel try.

Perhaps not with the metal from a paper clip, but as you said, some spring (or music) wire bent that way will work. If you think about it it's the same principle as that bump along the leg of the original "metal sheet stamp" spring.

It doesn't need to be strong, as the forces required are quite low, both for the sear and to retain the mainspring screw.

It was just an example to demonstrate that you don't need fancy tools or aircraft grade materials to keep it running, simply because the gun was designed to use the materials that they had back then, making the most of it.

Don't get too fancy with repairs on a TOZ... Keep it simple... and she will fire forever.
