As far as my "near pathological" aversion to PCPs...I own and compete with one, but I don't feel it has any real advantage over other types. If you think yours does, then be happy. I'm sure you're winning with it.

Rove, I think you've missed the point. I wrote that new technologies make tasks easier, easier. Do I shoot higher scores with my PCP than I did with my Izh46? No. Do my arthritic wrists and other body parts feel less pain after a match? Absolutely! I don't look at the Bullseye board very often - are you on a tear over there against red dot sights? The argument is much the same: not so much higher scores as less effort to get to the same level.

BTW I'm not ashamed to use a gasoline powered lawn mower either.

the high end chinese air rifle and pistols look marvelous. Is that what they use for their high school grass root training program? When i saw pictures of their high school kids shooting with morini and FWB, I used to think their program was insanely well funded, now I know they are shooting their own morini and FWB copies.

I'm not against PCPs or red dots. I own and use both.

Try showing up with a red dot at an Olympic style match (which is what this forum is about --see top of page). I think a new shooter should learn to shoot with iron sights. Is it harder? Does that matter? It IS easier to pack.

As for PCPs, I think operating the other type guns is so easy as to be not even a question when purchasing. I may be one of not many who has used them all in my shooting career.

Anyone seen one of these in person?

I heard it is produced by a military company that used to produce world class running target rifle. Their Olylmpic running target rifle has better grouping than Anschutz.

So I know it got to be a good pistol. Anyone seen it, played with it, know how to get one?

Doing the same task with the same result via an easier route seems best to me. CO2 works just fine. My daughter's Avanti Gold Medalist with refillable cylinder is fine in use but it is more of a hassle to refill than a pcp done with a scuba tank. Also, CO2 costs more generally. I'll be ordering a Hammerli AR20 tomorrow. I could order the CR20 for $100 less, but the cost of 88g cartridges would quickly eat up that saving. To each their own. And I still have fun shooting my Izzy. :)

@conradin: The LP300Club and LP300XT have the same balance and weight positions. The only difference is the compensator, the 5D grip and that the additional weights are included in the sales price.

I had the LP300 when I started shooting AP, but sold it after 3 moth..
As already mentioned, the balance is not state of the art and the trigger is also not the best..

If you can get a used Steyr LP1 or LP10 you will be happy by 75%.
