Gerard: A better bet might be Sil Lyra's air pistol academy. He seems to have his act together and is receptive to shooters of all levels without discrimination. I see he advertises in the official journal of USA Shooting, and is a certified coach.
qualified help is better ;)

Yes indeed, any qualified help is better than your initial offer" :))
"with a lot of guns in a lot of matches"
:(
Do you need anything else besides a fancy certificate on the wall to produce the international level of athlete’s performance during a short period of time?
Again, you forgot to mention the database and contact information of certified coaches NRA/USAS. I think you can find about over 200 certified coaches in the USA. Does it make any drastic improvement at the national level since they are all certified? We discussed this issue a few years ago already. One example: personal coach of Olympic Champion Women's Air Pistol, 10 metres (Atlanta, USA 1996)
Vladimir Kuznetsov (Olga Klochneva-Kuznetsova).

He has BS in chemistry and biology and no special or fancy certificate (40 hours or less, special certification) at the time when he managed her to become USSR National team member
in period over one year!

Absolutely correct. The question wasn't whether to build an FP range in the house, but rather whether to build
any range in the house. AP made sense; nothing else did.
I think your argument about the AP being
more dangerous than a locked-up FP is specious. It's comparing apples with accordions or something.
We're thinking just like the media wants us to think. "A gun is a DANGEROUS item to have in one's house. One never knows when the gun will turn on it's owner and poke a hole in their heart or in one of their children."
There is nothing dangerous about any firearm sitting around the house. It takes some clown to misuse it, or actually, use it as it was originally intended to be used, for someone to get hurt. We need to get over the fact that our guns were originally designed to kill. However, we use our Olympic guns and Bullseye handguns only for paper punching enjoyment. A lot of us also use one for family protection and we have others we use to kill animals.
We don't need competitors preaching that firearms are not in my house because they are too dangerous. What makes them so? Shooting a hole in the floor? Yep, if that is what you will do, then don't use that firearm, however, if you only say the firearm is too dangerous to be in my house and not that I don't think I can control it well enough to keep all the bullets in the backstop, then you are hurting the image of our shooting sports. Teach people how to use them safely. Educate people that firearms don't have a mind of their own and that a properly maintained firearm will not shoot without someone making it shoot.
End of rant.

Maybe this is a perfect time for you to tell us more about your
mentor, Don Hamilton?
Because some readers can be easily impressed by your credentials and may start making the wrong assumption that you got at this level alone?

You are not my target audience. I hope someone else is reading this forum. Thank you for the participation in my post. I wish you success!
Again, a difficulty of misunderstanding. My apologies for your mistaken impression that I was expressing interest in your seminar, as this was not the case. I am making a rare exception this week to a long-standing reluctance to visit the USA, as there is a convention and competition of doublebass makers and over 1000 bassists in San Francisco and it seems I really should go and enter my instrument. I will certainly not be travelling to the US to seek coaching of any sort, as this hobby does not justify that sort of time and expense for me. If I progress to a level where coaching seems a good idea, I will probably seek out the services of a local coach, perhaps Allan Harding as he is soon to be certified as a coach and currently also Canada's #1 AP competitor. By luck, he also lives just a few miles from me.
Time to introduce your mentors, coaches

Looks like it is time to introduce your mentors and coaches who did a great job by moving your performance to a new level of performance, and gave the chance for other fellow shooters to be served as well.
Do not keep them secret!
