Okay: How Bad is a Bad Pellet?

I'm beginning to believe that the significant flyer was not completely due to the bent skirt. But I did some pellet testing today (http://www.targettalk.org/viewtopic.php?t=22809) and happen to have randomly chosen a pellet with a bent skirt in one of the 10-shot series.

What I see is that it did fly differently and landed a good distance outside the other 29 pellets in the group, but nothing like the 1 inch off of trajectory:

a coil of weed wacker line works well for knocking the out too.
