PCP Guns

Hemmers,
I am not sure how the tap systems work in the pubs in the UK but here they use CO2 as the propellant to get the ale from the keg to the tap. When I was looking for a source, I went to the local brew pub in my town and asked him where he got his CO2. I turned out to be from a welding supply shop a few miles away. I had to buy the bulk tank already filled, 10lb tank (approx $110.) and will just exchange the empty bulk tank for a filled one (approx. $14.00)

I was surprised to learn that much of the CO2 is captured from brewery fermentation tanks and would otherwise be vented to the atmosphere.

You learn something new every day :-). Annoyingly I've seen all those supplies in use, just never joined the dots. Suppose that's what happens when you post in the late evening!

If you want to put CO2 in a PCP instead of air that's fine! Out of interest why? I can't imagine it's any cheaper to source CO2 than standard air (unless you work in a lab with CO2 on tap!).
Getting CO2 refills is surely a relatively specialist affair, whereas refills with dry, breathing-quality air can be obtained from any good dive-shop or gun shop.

Was browsing the post. Wondering if any of you know anything about refillable co2 cartridges (8/12/16 gram) ??? Comments?

Oz, have you ever shot your Co2 in the Tropics ? I don't think so. The Co2 is very inconsistent in hot weather. Where I live it was necessary for us to change all Co2s to PCPs for the said reason.

I have lots of virtually free co2 on tap. I make my own beer & have always had access to cheap co2. No need to visit a dive shop. I don't have to leave home. Convenience.

Hi Shiney, I live in the socal desert, and it can get very hot here....not Phoenix
hot, but sometimes up to 117 degrees F. I have shot my CO2 LP1-C in up to
102 degrees with barely noticable impairment. There is however too much
impairment on me at higher temps...that makes me a whimp of course.
How hot does it get to where you live? I also realize that 100 degree plus
weather is more tolerable when the humidity is lower than 15%.
I guess I lucky that I live where the climate is CO2 airgun friendly and is
available for such low cost.
