Cartwheel ... so are you using a Red Dot now? The tiny light weight expensive precise Docter Red Dot would barely change a pistols balance.

Mako,

Thanks for the information about the Docter Red Dot. I will take a look at it. I currently don't have a Red Dot but I have shot a pistol with one and have an UltraDot on order. It should be in shortly.

I agree completely. Iron sights is the way to go and I shot service rifle with them for many years but my eyes will not cooperate anymore. I have tried everthing but just can't seem to get a good sight picture with iron sights and I can do much better with red dot sights. Old age is hell. Thank to the powers that be in Bullseye Pistol you can use a scope for some of their matches.

I'm 69 and understand the problem. I'm fortuneate in being able to get a corrective lens that will allow me to focus on the front sight. FWIW, there are air pistols that can be fitted with a red dot - the IZH46M and Steyr LP50 are two examples - so it is possible to enjoy shooting air guns as well as firearms with ageing eyes.

Reinhamre;

Sorry that I haven't replied sooner. I'm having network issues. The serial number of my SSP is 1047.
