LP-50 Shroud for scope

Post by jzobel82 »

What exactly allows Pilkington's LP-50's to take a scope. Can a non-pilk Steyr be modified to take a Weaver mount?

The Pilkington LP50 has a cut out in the barrel shroud which will accept a weaver ring.

Pilkington sells a modified rail that mounts in place of the rear sight http://www.pilkguns.com/steyrmounts.htm

I mounted a scope on my LP50 as follows:
-remove the rear sight
-machine the bottom of a short length of Weaver or Picatinny rail to fit the pedestal on which the original rear sight was mounted. Use existing screw hole to fasten the rail to the frame. You can drill and tap for another screw if desired
