DO ANY OF YOU READERS HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF A FALLING BLOCK DOUBLE SET TRIGGER 22 RF TARGET PISTOL NAMED VENUS? PROFF MARKS APPEAR TO BE GERMAN. I BELIEVE IT IS A 1920-1930 VINTAGE FREE PISTOL. CURRENT OWNER WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF WOULD BE ALLOWED IN FREE PISTOL COMPETITION TODAY.

I don't know the gun I'm afraid but:-

1) Is it .22LR
2) Does it have open sights
3) Is the gun fired by the hand holding it
4) Is the grip clear of the wrist
5) Does it only go bang when the trigger is pulled

If the answer to all of those is "yes" then it should be OK for the 50m Pistol (Free) event.

The only Venus I'm familiar with, is a semi-auto pistol made by Venus Waffenwerke in Zella Mehlis Germany. They came in 6.35mm, 7.65mm, and 9mm., made from 1912 to 1914. They may have also made a free pistol. I'd sure like to see a photo of it.
