Shooting jacket under vest

Post by peepsight »

Hi, especially the Brits reading this site.

Your prayers have been answered. Marks & Spencer have just launched a 'Climate Control' long sleeved Sweat shirt. It has a 1/4 zip with stand up collar, no rough seems and comes in black only.

It is designed to be warn next to the skin and i have been using one for about a weak. It is extremely comfortable next to the skin and under the shooting jacket and it really does regulate your body temp.

Forget the expensive under garments from the shooting clothing people,
This is only £19.50 and it works.

Peepsight,
you really found a shirt, which is capaple as shooting underwear.
It is made of cotton and viscose, which means, it can soak of sweat.
The second plus is, that it is prepared with "Outlast" technology.
"Outlast" technology uses the PCM technology which makes an activ regulation of temperature. It can keep cool or warm.

But, this is not an replacement for a good shooting sweater, because it is made of thin fabric. It is a shirt, which is good to wear underneath a shooting sweater. All functions can work just at a minimum, because of the limited amount of material. (A thin fabric cannot soak of much sweat until it feels wet.)

Shooting sweaters are specially designed to fit well in the different shooting positions and have paddings placed where needed. They are made of thicker fabric or double layers.
They are produced in small series.
Therefore they have to be more expensive than just normal sport shirts.

Shooting clothing people offers often inexpensive clothing, but sometimes no shooters take notice and are not interested to buy.

Hi
I think you miss the point, this Climate control vest fits snugly, and does the job very well and only costs £19. You can always put another layer on if its too thin. I personally shoot with the climate control vest next to my skin and an Anschutz shooting vest over the top. They both work well together and are not too thick under my shooting jacket. I have shot on a hot range, no problem and a cold range no problem.

good find peepsight, its a lot cheaper than the sauer equivalent, I have a berghaus one from Blacks outdoor shop (uk) which is under half the price of the sauer. I know it's a small market for the shooting equipment, clothing, sights and such, but I do think we are being ripped off sometimes. Colin

I cannot believe it, i have the same Berghaus shirt from Blacks, i just alternate it with the Marks & Spencer one while the other is being washed.

Word of warning, if you machine wash at home, use the wool wash as it is kinder to the material and the shirt will last longer.

If they don't I'm sure they will ship it in for you.

Don't be confused with the French company M&S which are all over Europe. This is the British company Marks & Spencer. Just thought i would mention that.

I thought that as well, but curiously they say that they will only deliver to:
Do you deliver outside the UK?

Subject to Terms & Conditions, selected products may be delivered to Australia, Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand, Spain and the United States. Deliveries outside the UK are subject to customs, legal, regulatory and certain practical restrictions. Please note we don't deliver to Eire, the Channel Islands, or to shipping companies.

I find that rather surprising.

Do you have any friends or relations in the UK, there is a huge Greek community in London. Perhaps you could get one of them to post it to you.

They do climate control socks as well, You get 2 pairs for £5 and are from the same series as the shirts. Tried them and they work brilliant in the shooting boots.
