FAS .32 recommended bullet diameter?

Post by RMinUT »

I have recently started to reload for a FAS .32 and am hoping to get recommendations for 98gr. bullet diameters. I am pretty sure the barrel i.d. is .308.

Given the options of .311, .312, .313, .314 what do people use?

thanks.

The correct way is to push a projectile through your barrel and then run a micrometer over it to obtain the true dimension of your barrel. Then purchase the first size over your barrel size. ....Easy.

The barrels on both of my 603s were .308.

When reloading I always used either Geco or Lapua 98gr HBWC in .312 or .313 (Batched Geco cases, 1.4 grain Norma R1, CCI 500 primers, medium roll crimp).

Back when I was shooting seriously, I liked the .313 90grs H&N HBWC on 1.3 R310. I always felt the FAS (and most other Italian barrels) to be too tight for the .314.

RM - seems like you and I are on the same path as I've just picked up my first .32, a GSP. Luckily its former owner did a bunch of ammo testing and found it really prefers the .314, so that part of the research has been done for me.

I wish you success in getting good reloads for your FAS!
