KT Adventure vrs Expert jacket

Post by 2many7s »

Hello, I am in the market for a jacket for my son and I am looking at the KT Expert and KT Adventure (and also a little at the Monard Super). In the KT line the Adventure is "off the shelf" or custom while the Expert is custom only.

As my son is still growing I would like to stay with the lower priced Adventure if it is good enough, but in the pictures it does not look impressive. The model may simply not fit the suit properly but it looks...weak. I like the idea of "shorter break in time" as my son is 14 and may be discouraged by a jacket that is stiff as iron but he shoots some 94 - 96 point standing targets with his rag of a jacket so he is ready for a good one.

What do you guys (and gals) recommend....

Wow, I hear you on the growth

I've got 2 daughters (13 & 16) and I just can't do the custom yet. I'd be buying new custom stuff every 9 months

I've been very happy with the Champions Choice Suede & Canvas gear, as well as the Gehmann, primarily as it seems to fit a growing girls' "figure" better than the others.

Since he will most probably grow out of it, it will be easier to sell a $200 jacket when he does .....

I am in the same situation. I'm 15 and need a new jacket, but I grow too rapidly to get custom stuff. One of my friends who has KT custom gear said she ordered it... and by the time it arrived she forgot she ordered it, and it didn't fit right because in the time that it took them to get it to her she had grown. I would recommend the Monard super. From what I hear Monard is a step down from KT. I know a few people who have that gear and they say its great.

i have the KT expert suit and it's the best thing i've done for my shooting since buying the free rifle. but i'm 22 years old so i won't be growing any more. if you are still growing you shouldn't get the custom suit, you should wait... unless you can afford to get a new suit every year.

i shoot against a kid who is 13 and has been through a few suits; he certainly shoots well enough to warrant it and the parents have the money so why not...
