Scuba tank for fill info needed

Post by will4h »

I have access to a old firemans breathing tank which is just like a scuba tank. The place where I would thread my air gin cylinder adapter in is different though. can you just use brass fittings to adapt or do you have to change valve

I have used both scuba bottles and airpack bottles for thier origanal purpose and air rifles. First keep in mind that both need to be hydrostatically inspected every 5 years by Federal law.Yours is probabaly due, the date should be stamped at the neck.Second some airpack bottles cannot be reinspected and cannot be used past 5 years of origanal manufacture. I just had one of my scuba hydroed for $35.00 BTW. Third most airpack bottles are 2250 psi and don't offer many refills as such. Fourth some older MSA airpack botles were 1100 psi and are basically unusable.
