I am considering switching out my older wooden 1813 stock for a 2013 aluminum stock. My wooden stock is glass bedded and I was able to inspect the newer stock. There is an adapter plate needed, and I am wondering if the bedding of the old action into the new stock will be as effective and stable as the previous glass bedding.
Wondering what you guys think...

Hi BartP,
As the previous poster said - no adapter plate is need for the 1813 or 1913 barrel in the 2213 stock. It beds straight in using the two bolts. I have mine torqued to 5 Nm, but others have experimented with up to 7 Nm - your mileage may vary.
The 2313 stock, on the other hand, is made for the 2013 "square" action with 4 bedding bolts and would need an adapter plate to accomodate the 1813 barrel.

Got it on the Stock change
Yeah. I spoke with Champ Choice. They also recommended the 2313 choice with the adapter plate. I appreciate the input gents! May you shoot many Xs in the Great Wind! Bp
1813 / 2013 stock
The problem with an 1813 action ino a 2013 alu stock is as follows:
You need the adapter so you would have 6 screws to adjust to bed more time to get 100% right
Secondly you need to either mill a tang slot in the stock or shorten the tang on the action to fit the adapter / action to the stock
Unless your 2013 alu is at a very good price sugegst use a 2213 stock as others have recommended

Just to be clear:
There is no 2013 stock as such. There is a barreled action 2013 with four bedding bolts which fits into the 2313 stock which is specifically made for it. If you do end up using a 2313 stock, then you need an adapter plate for the older barrels 1813/1913, which requires four bolts for the adapter and two for the actual barrel bedding bolts.
However, if you can source the 2213 stock instead, then you have a straight drop-in of the 1813/1913 barrel. IMHO this is what you should be going for.
