LP10 sight adjustment

Post by simonknight »

I've just bought an LP10 and I am at the beginner stage.

I am aiming sub six o'clock and when the shot looks good I hit the 10. My concern is that I've had to adjust the rear sight so low that I only have six clicks left before the sight bottoms out on the handle. In effect I don't have enough adjustment to shoot six o'clock or center of mass.

Am I doing anything wrong - I'm aligning the tops of the rear and front sights. Or could the pistol require some other adjustment?

Thanks for your help.

I've figured out that the rear sight was adjusted all the way forward, hence the lack of clearance with the handle.

What determines the best fore and aft positioning of the rear sight?

Thanks in advance.

Simon,
There is no "best" position for any of the adjustments on your LP-10; it all depends on what works best for you. My advice is to keep it simple while you are starting out and not do too much experimenting with all the different adjustment screws. Regarding the fore/aft sight position: Where do get the clearest sight picture? Don't change too many things at once and give yourself time to really evaluate what you did change. Good luck and good shooting.
