Silhouette Rifle Help

Post by jr.olympic 3-p AR. »

I'm starting to shoot silhouettes, I've just been using a savage mk2 with them open sights and accu trigger, I was wondering what would be a good .22 lr silhouette rifle, I only have a budget of about 500$ or so, Some folks suggested a Anshutz Model 54 (or 65 too) The name Anshutz doesn't come cheap though, So, if you have any suggestions It'd greatly be apreiciated!!

silhouette rifle

Ditto the CZ-good barrel, trigger mods available from Eric Brooks for $16, or an adjustable sear from Brownell's for $65, or a whole trigger from Timney for $89. Scope needs to repeat reliably, most folks use 10-24X. You can save money by hanging out at the matches; somebody's always selling to finance the next one.

4-H 3P and Silhouette

For 3-P a 1 1/2 lb trigger is required with an attachment for the sling. No sling is allowed in sillouette. The scope is restricted to 6X ad may be used in both with the concurrance of the match director. There is no restriction on the weight of the trigger in 4-H sillouette. NRA sillouette allows up to 11 lbs for the rifle with scope. This is not complete so I recommend getting a copy of the rules for whatever match in which you plan to compete .
