AW93 Grip angle

Post by tleddy »

I picked up an AW93 from Pilkington and am very pleased with the gun... with one small exception. I have been shooting the 1911 with either a Kart or Marvel top end for my .22 matches for decades and the grip angle on the AW93 requires that I cant my wrist slightly down for sight alignment.

Does anyone on the forum have experience in making about a ten degree alteration in the grip angle to replicate the 1911 angle?

Now that is going to be a challenge... could possibly be done if you have fairly large hands, but you're going to get some distance between the barrel axis and your hand, and I'm not sure if a fully closed design (front strap too) works on the AW93... Hammerli 208 would probably have been a better choice, if grip angle is a non-variable...
