IZH46 Breech Seals

Post by smoking357 »

Are there any known gaskets or seals out there that are readily obtainable and cheaper than the $4.50 EAA charges?

These look like .10 cent gaskets.

Since they are not o-rings or standard parts, maybe not. Tim MacMurray at mac1airguns.com has some replacements that he claims are much better than the originals (and probably cheaper).

Best,

Tried that site. Couldn't make a lick of sense of it. Do you have another link?

Thanks

Pilkington Guns sells and services the IZH46. I am sure they have the gaskets you want. These are not your run-of-the-mill hardware store gaskets.

Seals

Post by Southpaw »

They might not be "run of the mill" but they are just seals. If your city has an industrial seal wholesaler, you may be able to take a sample in and once they know what pressure the seal is exposed to, hopefully they can fix you up.
I go to a place called "Kepco" where I live and although they have a $5 dollar minimum charge (I get about 40 seals for my AP for $5), I can in turn supply my club mates with the same guns to offset the cost. These are not substitutes, but are the exact size and compound needed for the pressures.
Check your yellow pages.
