Gates Sights
Gates sights are still made and are available...I'll try to find the contact info tomorrow.
As for their quality, they are second to none. The windage and elevation are crisp and repeatable all day long...the sight is double spring loaded so there is no back lash in the thread when you change direction...the thread is always loaded. In addition, they are very simple to take apart and clean...they are also actually idot proof if you take it all part and mix up the parts...it will only go back together one way.
The sights are still very common to see on the PA prone circuit, in which Mr. Gates supplied many of his sights. I personally own 2 sets that are 1/6 moa, and my father owns one 1/4 minute version also.
The only negative comment, if you even consider it one..., is that they are made of all steel, so they are a little heavier than the Warner or PKN...but that does not matter in prone.
