Anschutz imported(?) by Canadian Industries Limited
I have an Anschutz 22 single shot marked "Canadian Industries Limited" on the barrel and "CIL 180" on the top of the receiver. It is a sporter but I just shot some great groups with non-match standard velocity ammo. Can anybody provided me with some background on this rifle? TIA.
The CIL 180 rifles were made under contract by Anschutz for imoportation into Canada by Canadian induastries ltd. They supplied them through retailers especially to conform with the Canadian Sporting Rifle programme which was sponsored by the large ammunition manufacturers CIL. The 180's were very popular and there were (and still are) thousands of them in circulation in Canada......no doubt some found their way into the USA. The rifle was based on the standard Anschutz action, the stock was made to resemble a standard rifle stock and the weight was made to conform with the 7.5lb. sporting rifle weight rule. A similar rifle was made by Walther and sold in Canada through Canadian Sauer Ltd. It was called the KKJ-T or the KKJM. There was great rivalry between the two rifles. Both were very accurate at 50 yds. with match grade ammunition. In the 1960's the 180 retailed for about Can. $75.00.
Thank you for the info.

Thanks, this is great.
Do they have the 64 action or just a lower model action?
