Interservice Pistol Championships kick off June 10

FORT BENNING, Ga. – For military competitive shooters, there’ll be more than plaques and marksmanship badges on the line at the 47th annual Interservice Pistol Championships, which will be conducted June 10 to 16 here; there’s also bragging rights.
The U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit will host the 47th annual Interservice Pistol Championships Matches June 10 to 16 at Phillips and Parks ranges. Awards will be presented to the winners and second- and third-place finishers in all individual matches.
Any member of the Armed Service, active duty, Reserve, National Guard and cadets, are invited to participate. The NRA Warm-Up Matches June 10 and 11 will also be open to civilians. Approximately 80 military personnel from around the country are expected to compete in the Department of Defense-wide championships.
The schedule of events is as follows:
June 8:
8 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Phillips Range open for training.
June 9:
8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Phillips Range open for training.
1 to 4 p.m. – Military registration at Match Headquarters, Phillips Range, Building 1615.
5 p.m. – Team Captains Meeting at Phillips Range.
June 10:
7 to 7:30 a.m. – Civilian registration.
7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Day One Warm-Up Match, .22-Caliber Pistol and Center Fire Pistol at Phillips Range.
June 11:
7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Day Two Warm-Up Match .45-Caliber Pistol and Service Pistol Warm-Up Match at Phillips Range.
June 12:
8 to 11 a.m. – Matches 1 to 5, .22-Caliber Pistol Individual Matches at Phillips Range.
1:30 to 3 p.m. – Match 22, .22-Caliber Pistol Team Match at Phillips Range.
June 13:
8 to 11 a.m. – Matches 6 to 10, Center Fire Pistol Individual Matches at Phillips Range.
1:30 to 3 p.m. – Match 23, Center Fire Pistol Team Match at Phillips Range.
3 p.m. – Team photos at Phillips Range.
June 14:
8 to 11 a.m. – Matches 11 to 15, .45-Caliber Pistol Individual Matches at Phillips Range.
1:30 to 3 p.m. – Match 24, .45-Caliber Pistol Team Match at Phillips Range.
3 p.m. – Match 27, Excellence in Competition Pistol Match at Phillips Range.
June 15:
8 to 11 a.m. – Matches 16 to 20, Service Pistol Individual Matches at Phillips Range.
1:30 to 3 p.m. – Match 25, Service Pistol Team Match at Phillips Range.
June 16:
8 to 9:30 a.m. – Combat Pistol Marksmanship Classes at Parks Range.
9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Matches 30 to 32, Combat Pistol Matches at Parks Range.
1:30 to 3 p.m. – Match 33, Combat Pistol Team Match at Parks Range.
6 p.m. – Awards Banquet at the Columbus Iron Works Convention and Trade Center.
