ISSF Pistol Shooters on Vancouver Island???

Post by Flyboy Shooter »

I'm moving from Kingston, Ontario to Comox, BC and am looking for anyone out that way who shoots and seriously trains in ISSF disciplines. I know of two gun clubs out that way, one on Comox lake (Fish and Game association) and a club in Campbell River. Anyone out there have any experiance out there?? Thanks! Feel free to post or PM.

Jesse,
Hopefully there are some closer, but there is a good ISSF range at the North Saanich Rod and Gun Club. That's a bit of a drive from Comox, but good highway all the way. The BC Provincial ISSF Championships will be held at North Saanich on May 19th, 20th, and 21st. Air, Free, Rapid, Standard, and CF/Sport. The range was built for either the Commonwealth Games or the Pan-Am games (I forget which) some years ago, but it is still in good shape. I know there is at least one ISSF shooter in Campbell River because he attends the matches.
Check out www.bctsa.bc.ca
I see there that there is a Campbell River Gun Club, a Courtenay Fish and Game Club, also Parksville/Qualicum Fish and Game Club, but no listing for Comox.
I'll check further with some of my BC ISSF shooting buddies.
Welcome to BC, where our gun laws are more liberally interpreted (that's small "L" liberal) than in Ontario.
