Is anyone still making a clip on pistol shooting lens? I have an old one that clips on the temple, on steet glasses, with extra lenses. I would like to buy another but I have been unable to find them.

There has been some discussion about these on the Bullseye List, but I didn't pay all that much attention. So - what I say here may very well not be correct. However, IIRC, the unit you describe, the "Clearsight"?, is no longer made. What is still available is the kind of frame used for the Clearsight, which is the frame for a jeweler's loupe. Unfortunately for most people, these only come with much stronger lenses than needed for shooting. Fortunately for you, though, if you have the lenses, you may be able to buy a loupe with the appropriate diameter frame and substitute one of your own lenses.

I don't think anyone makes anything like the Merit anymore. I am experimenting with a couple of options:
OPTX makes "Stick on lenses that can add a lens to safety glasses (http://www.safetyglassesusa.com/saf-250db.html) I got some recently, but have not tested them yet.
You can also get Clip-On / Flip-Up +diopter lenses, similar to flip up sunglasses, but I don't remember where I go thtem. I don't think I like the additional lens, but I have not made up my mind.

I use them on a spare set of street glasses and they work great. The only caveat is not to sharpen the target too much or you will find yourself attracted to looking at it rather than the sights.

See attached photo. I removed the magnifying lens and replaced it with a spare lens holder and lens from my Varga shooting glasses. The one shown is 37mm, but I thing the smaller, 23mm would work better. I use this set up for bullseye so I don't have to keep changing my glasses when I go forward to score targets.
