Tesro RDS

Post by Brian James »

Has anyone purchased a Tesro Pistol with the RDS attachment (the piece they sell to aid sight alignment recovery). If you have one of these RDS accessories, how well does it work?

Thanks,

Brian

T22 and RDS

I have a Tesro and have tried it with the RDS and a number of barrel weights. I settled for a 80g steel half weight a the rear (better for Standard pistol), the RDS is fitted to a mates pistol he uses for rapidfire.
The RDS is fairly heavy, it is a pivoted weight in a housing. The pivot is at the rear across the barrel line and the weight moves up and down under the pistol. The weight has a spring to load the weight upwards and a rubber buffer. On recoil as the barrel lifts the mass of the weight tends to remain fixed and this loads the spring up effectivly making the weight heavier holding the pistol nose down, as the barrel recovers and comes down the buffer stops the weight moving.
Yes it does work, great for rapid in 4 seconds, but I found a lighter fixed weight was better for standard pistol slower series.
